OK, now this is a little more regional. It's a photo of the Missouri River, instead of an anonymous lighthouse somewhere. (There aren't many lighthouses in St. Louis. Trust me.)
The only reason that there aren't any lighthouses in Missouri is that many years ago they all picked up their skirts and chased the MO Ocean east, where it became the Atlantic MOcean. And the lighthouses are now all living on the east coast, diligently preventing the MOcean from retreating back west.
